Diamond drilling

Core that informs your next decision.

Our surface and underground diamond drilling services recover rock core for geological interpretation and mineral evaluation. The work is planned around formation conditions, access, core requirements and the care needed to preserve each sample.

Suitable applications

Diamond drilling is used where an exploration program requires rock core for geological examination. Our service covers surface and underground work, with the proposed arrangement considered against the geological objective, the required core dimensions and the conditions of the work area.

02

Operational approach

The drilling approach is developed around the formation, the hole program and the available access. Tooling, operating parameters, fluid requirements and handling arrangements need to be considered together. A clear understanding of these factors helps the field team respond appropriately as conditions change.

03

Sample quality

Core has value when its geological information and position within the hole can be interpreted reliably. Recovery is influenced by the formation and the drilling process, while careful handling, clear depth identification and orderly core trays help preserve the information obtained. Sample requirements should therefore be agreed before work begins.

04

Safety & environment

Diamond drilling requires attention to rotating equipment, rod handling, work-area access and the management of drilling fluids. For underground operations, the work must also be coordinated with the mine’s access, ventilation and emergency arrangements. These requirements form part of the site-specific planning discussion.

05

Plan the program

Please provide the project location, the proposed holes, the surface or underground setting and the anticipated ground conditions. Core requirements, available services, site restrictions and the intended schedule help us assess the equipment and operational arrangements appropriate to your program.

Questions, answered

Do you provide surface and underground diamond drilling?

Yes. Both are included in the service scope. Equipment and the work plan are matched to the project.

What should we include in an enquiry?

Location, access, proposed holes, expected geology, core requirements, schedule and site constraints.

Do you provide directional steering or laboratory analysis?

We provide drilling services and do not undertake directional steering or laboratory analysis. These activities should be arranged separately within the exploration program.

Discuss a project

Your next program starts with a conversation.

Share the objectives of your exploration program, the location and the proposed schedule. With an understanding of the ground conditions, access and sampling requirements, we can begin a considered discussion of the drilling approach and the support your operation will need.
